All new and returning students must register through the MDM Parent Portal. Students will not be allowed to participate in dance classes unless all registration materials have been submitted and full payment has been made. Please note there is a registration fee of $30 per dancer due upon initial enrollment and annually at the start of the fall and summer sessions.
Tuition is posted on the 1st of each month. Any tuition not paid in full by the 10th* of the month will incur a $10 late fee. Tuition can be paid with check or cash at the front desk or online through your Parent Portal. Convenience fees apply to all online payments.
*During "Open Enrollment" months (January, June & September), tuition will not be posted until the 15th and will be due on the 20th.
More information about our tuition policies is here.

We learned a few things from the policy changes that the Covid pandemic created. One of those relates to having our lobbies closed for parent observation and waiting.
Having closed observation lobbies allows us to create a more professional environment inside the lobby for our customers. We have a quieter space whereby parents are able to ask questions at the desk in an environment that is less noisy and our dancers have space available, other than the floor, to wait for class, eat and do homework.
This is a policy that we feel enhances our ability to provide excellent dance instruction as well as excellent customer service. We will continue to keep our lobbies closed for parent observation and will continue to invite parents to observe select classes via ZOOM (primarily our Tiny Dancer classes).
Our lobbies are always open for front desk assistance!
For safety measures, all of our studios utilize closed circuit cameras that are on display on the TV monitors in the lobbies of both buildings.
Once per semester, we invite parents to observe a portion of the class inside the studio classroom. Notification regarding these times can be found in our Calendar of Dates and in our monthly newsletters.
For performances and Dress Rehearsals, parental viewing will be from the audience section only.
The use of social media is commonplace and can be a positive way to promote MDM and your own dancer. The policies listed below are intended to serve as guidelines regarding how to use social media in a positive and encouraging manner:
- Never post anything that could compromise the self esteem of students who attend MDM.
- Never post any negative comments about MDM or its instructors, performances, or events.
- Never post any negative comments about a fellow student or peer.
- If you post videos of class or rehearsal, do not post choreography in its entirety.
- When posting images or videos from class, rehearsal, or performances, please tag MDM
as follows: #midwestdancemechanix #mdm
- Please note that improper use of social media in any capacity may be grounds for
dismissal of a parent or student.
There are many factors that influence the choices we make at MDM. You can be assured that our students and the integrity of the dance program are always taken into account. Please remember that dance is an art form. Artistic and preferential choices are made freely by our teachers. Under no circumstances will criticism of students, teachers, casting, costumes or choreography be tolerated. If there is a concern, please notify the MDM staff using the preferred communication channel. Inappropriate emails or confrontations will be handled immediately with a warning to the involved parties. Continued interference will result in expulsion of both the student(s) and the parent(s) from the dance studio.
